Jose has been working at Beacon Group as an AbilityOne employee for over two years at the Nogales Port of Entry, one of the 14 AbilityOne sites that Beacon maintains a contract with. He and the small crew of Job Coaches and landscapers keep the 55-acre property at the port well-maintained and looking pristine.
Prior to working at Beacon Group, Jose worked as a school custodian for over 30 years where he earned a reputation as a hard worker. When he retired from that career, Beacon Job Coach, Omar Perez, asked him to join his landscaping team. The two had been friends for over ten years and Omar knew Jose’s previous knowledge and experience would make him an asset to the team.
The work is not easy, especially during the hot summers, but Jose has lived up to his reputation, making sure every job is done right.
