Christoper has worked at Beacon Group for nearly 15 years. He currently works on the custodial team at the Evo A. DeConcini U.S. Courthouse in Tucson as part of Beacon’s AbilityOne program. Christopher worked in various positions at Beacon including in Beacon Secure and in custodial at other worksites, but he’s really found his stride at the courthouse.
Christopher says the best part of his job is the social connections he’s made with his co-workers and bosses. The best advice he can give is to “work hard and continue with what you want to do”.
His supervisor, Doreen Suarez, says he lives up to that advice. “Chris is an asset to this custodial team,” says Doreen. “He is reliable and a team player and he’s always ready and willing to help with other related duties.”
Programs like AbilityOne empower people with disabilities to work in jobs in the community and experience the satisfaction of achievement, contribution, and earning a paycheck. At the same time, this program and its employees are meeting the needs of the employer.
